Is Michael Jackson dying of a lung infection?

Sources are concerned about some pictures of the pop star that recently surfaced.

Jackson was seen wearing a hospital mask and being pushed in a wheechair. It's reported that the former pop star is financially drained, which has resulted in the demise of his health. Sources say he is depressed and it's affecting him physically.

“There are constant rumours of a Michael Jackson comeback but it was shocking to see that in reality he is a shadow of his former self.

“He seemed too weak even to get out of the chair to cross the road himself. He stayed in the store for two hours and wheeled himself around in the chair the whole time.

“The skin on his hands was peeling, almost like a snake’s. He kept his mask on all the time. His security man was at his side and nobody approached him. It is really sad.”

Jackson turns 50 in August but has the appearance of someone much older. He is fraile and gaunt. “He has days when he is fine but others when he feels listless and too weak to walk. Then he calls for the wheelchair.

“Usually on those days he also refuses to get dressed, spending all day in his pyjamas.”

“Jacko is struggling for money and needs to work. “There’s huge interest in a comeback, but there are doubts that Jacko can pull it off. He isn’t strong enough — mentally or physically.”

Mohanlal to become a Lt Colonel : Rediff reports

This title does not belong to a forthcoming film nor is it a figment of imagination. It is a fact. In a month, the nation will confer 48-year-old Malayalam actor, Mohanlal, with the honorary title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army.

Mohanlal will be the first actor in the country to get such a prestigious title from the army. The only other celebrity to get this title is former cricket captain Kapil Dev.

It is learnt that the chief of army recommended Mohanlal's name to the Defence Ministry. An official MoD communique is expected in a month.

"The proposal has been forwarded. A decision will be taken soon. I cannot reveal the details now," an officer in the Territorial Army said, seeking anonymity.

Mohanlal, shooting for a film in the remote areas of Ooty, remained unavailable for comments.
It is perhaps the two army roles that he donned -- in Keerthichakra and Kurukshetra -- that led to this new development. Keerthichakra depicted the army's anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir, while Kurukshetra dealt with the Kargil war.

"It will be a great honour. It is also heartening to know that I -- my films -- have been instrumental in Lal getting the honour," says Major Ravi, who directed both the films. The director will soon start work on a film on the Kandahar hijack, featuring Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan.

The Territorial Army is a voluntary part-time civilian force that plays a key role in the defence of the country. It provides an opportunity to civilians to receive military training and also provides the country with a reserve force that can assist the regular army during operations, whenever required. However, it remains a honorary post.

Bye Bye Blackberry, Says US President-Elect Barack Obama

President-elect Barack Obama will have to give up the BlackBerry that he's had literally by his side (clipped to his belt, a surprising fashion faux pas by the normally quite fashionable candidate). Because of security concerns, the chief executive is not allowed to send emails. President George W. Bush has gone without email for eight years, and was reported to be looking forward to sending them again a few months ago. Obama does plan to bring a laptop to the Oval Office, and there's some talk of setting up a read-only email account. How would you cope with living without email?

iPod creator says goodbye to Apple

The man behind one of the world's most popular digital music players is bidding farewell...
Tony Fadell, referred to as 'father of the iPod', is leaving Apple. One of the world's fastest selling digital music players, the iPod turned around the company's fortunes.
Seven years ago, it was Tony Fadell who led a team of designers and engineers to introduce the iPod. It was his idea to club a Napster-like music store with a hard drive-based MP3 player. Sleek and stylish, the product soon became one of the most hottest selling products from Apple. For the ambitious Fadell, it has been an incredible journey.
He has now chosen to spend more time with his family.
Apple has announced that the iPod division vice president Tony Fadell and his wife, Danielle Lambert, who is vice president of the company's human resources department, are leaving to spend more with their family.
Fadell, will however remain as an adviser to CEO Steve Jobs.
